JAMMU, Aug 30: In a decisive move reflecting solidarity with flood-affected families, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, under the directions of Chief Justice Arun Palli, has ordered its Judges, officers and staff to contribute towards the relief fund of the Government of J&K. The step comes in the wake of devastating cloudbursts and flash floods that have ravaged several districts across the Union Territory.

The order, issued by Registrar Vigilance Rajeev Gupta on the instructions of the Chief Justice, lays down a structured contribution mechanism, ensuring every segment of the judiciary participates in the relief effort.
All the Judges of the High Court will contribute Rs 20,000 each, District Judges of the UTs of J&K and Ladakh will contribute Rs 10,000 each, all the Civil Judges (Senior Division) Rs 7000, all the Civil Judges (Junior Division) Rs 5000, all the Gazetted Officers of the High Court as well as District Judiciary Rs 5000 each and all the Non-Gazetted Officials will contribute Rs 1000 each.
In addition to the mandatory contributions from the judiciary, the High Court has requested for voluntary donations from members of the High Court Bar Association, Jammu/Srinagar, as well as District Bar Associations across J&K and Ladakh.
On getting the deposit (contribution), the Registrar General will issue a consolidated cheque of the entire amount for making payment to the Government of J&K.
