New session of Vedic Pathshala commences

JAMMU, Aug 24: In a significant initiative to promote the rich heritage of “Sanatan Dharma” among the younger generation and interested individuals, Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust Jammu, has launched a “Vedic Pathshala” at its “Sankat Mochan Panchmukhi Shree Hanuman Mandir Bhawan”, situated at B.C Road Jammu. New session of Vedic Pathshala commenced today with 60 students, mostly under 15.
They received comprehensive instructions on reciting “Shrimad Bhagvad Gita and Shree Hanuman Chalisa, Sunderkand Path, and Dharma-Karma Gayan.
These young learners not only grasped the verses but also recited them with great devotion. During a sharing session, the students impressively recited verses in Sanskrit and then skillfully translated them into both English and Hindi. Their ability to recite and translate Shrimad Bhagvad Gita and Shree Hanuman Chalisa was particularly noteworthy, earning appreciation from all presence.
“This initiative not only preserves ancient wisdom but also fosters a sense of identity, community and spiritual growth among young minds, ensuring a vibrant cultural continuity for years to come,” said Pawan Kumar Shastri, President of the Trust.
Pawan Kumar Shastri has been instrumental in initiating Vedic Classes in the division. He emphasized that the Trust aims to continue these classes to enlighten the younger generation about Sanatan Dharma’s rich heritage by imparting knowledge of ancient’s scriptures like Shree Bhagvad Gita, Hanuman Chalisa, Ramayana, Veda and Upanishad.
The Trust seeks to connect youth with their cultural roots, said Dr Arun Shastri and Dr Ajay Shastri, Sanskrit scholars.
Chief guest of the programme was Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports.
Sukhdev Sharma W.C.M and Rashpal Sharma, Incharge B.C Road Mandir Complex were also present.
