SRINAGAR, Aug 23: Carrying forward the J&K Government’s “Mission YUVA” initiative to nurture entrepreneurship and deepen financial inclusion, J&K Bank this week organized a series of ‘Login Day’ events across several districts of the Union Territory, handing over sanction letters to aspiring entrepreneurs and linking them with credit support.
So far, under Mission YUVA, the Bank has sanctioned 3,202 entrepreneurial cases and disbursed funds in 1,398 cases across the Union Territory.
In Pulwama, a programme titled ‘Roz e YUVA’ was presided over by General Manager Syed Rais Maqbool, alongside Zonal Head (Pulwama) Irfan Anjum, District Employment & Counselling Officer, senior district administration representatives, and Bank officials. Dozens of sanction letters were distributed on the occasion.
“Mission YUVA is about more than financial access—it’s about building self-belief in our youth. By linking them with formal banking, entrepreneurship support, and essential social security coverage, we are paving the way for their long-term empowerment,” said GM Maqbool, urging staff to intensify enrolment under social security schemes.
A similar programme in Ramban saw the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) celebrate ‘Udyami YUVA Day’. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with the Bank’s General Manager Rajesh Gupta and senior district officers, distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries.
“J&K Bank’s initiatives like these ensure quick and effective delivery of employment programmes,” said the Deputy Commissioner. GM Rajesh Gupta added, “The response from the youth has been inspiring. Mission YUVA is providing timely credit and critical handholding to help turn entrepreneurial ideas into reality.”
In Udhampur, GM Rakesh Magotra, joined by senior Government officials, led the sanction letter distribution and held interactive discussions with beneficiaries. He said, “Through close coordination with district administrations, we ensure a seamless experience and proper guidance at every stage.”
At Ganderbal, GM & CRO Altaf Hussain Kira noted, “Each sanction handed over is a seed of opportunity with the potential for sustainable livelihoods.”
Alongside credit support, beneficiaries were also enrolled in Social Security Schemes, reinforcing J&K Bank’s commitment to grassroots financial inclusion.
