SRINAGAR, Aug 23: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau today presented charge-sheet against then Patwari Halqa Sharifabad, HMT Srinagar, in a bribery case before the Additional Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court Srinagar.
Charge-sheet in case FIR number 21/2023, registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at Police Station ACB Srinagar Kashmir, was presented against accused Patwari Ashiq Hussain Malik, who was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.
The FIR was registered on 05-10-2023 on a written complaint alleging therein that aforesaid accused demanded bribe for making requisite entries in Jamabandi online documents of revenue. A trap was laid and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from the complainant. The bribe money was recovered on the spot, and chemical tests later confirmed the presence of phenolphthalein on the accused’s hands.
After obtaining the requisite sanction for prosecution from the Govt, the charge-sheet was presented before the court for judicial determination. The next date of hearing has been fixed on 08-10-2025.
