KATHUA, Aug 22: The people from far-flung area of Bani Sub Division in district Kathua held protest alleging that many Government schools in the area are under staff and the Education authorities have failed to fill up the vacant posts since long.
A large number of people from Panchayats-Banjal, Dulka, Asso, Sandroon, Barmota, Bhandar, Fatehpur, Sitti and other areas assembled at the Sub Divisional headquarters Bani led by social activist Thakur Lekh Raj Sundram on Thursday and held protest. They were shouting slogans against Education Minister, and other concerned authorities.
They alleged that several posts of teachers are lying vacant in many Primary, Middle and High Schools in these above mentioned Panchayats besides Taggar area. Several representations were given to the concerned Zonal Education Officer and Chief Education Office Kathua in this regard.
Even the local MLA was apprised of the matter and he reportedly took up the matter with the Education Minister in her office in Jammu as well as in Srinagar. They demanded that a proper policy should be made to appoint teachers in the far flung areas as the students of these pockets are badly suffering. The protesters demanded filling up of the vacant posts of teachers in the schools located in above mentioned Panchayats of Bani Sub Division without any more delay.
