JAMMU, Aug 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has re-fixed the seniority of two Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers in compliance with a judgment of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.
As per the revised seniority list, Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo has now been placed at position 113-A between Shabnam Shah Kamili and Ravinder Kumar Bhat, while Tariq Hussain Ganai at position 120-A between Mohammad Hussain Mir and Munir-ul-Islam in the seniority list issued in April 2021.
The move followed a petition filed by Dr Itoo and others against a seniority list issued in 2021, which was quashed by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). The Tribunal had directed that the 2011 seniority list be restored.
The Union Territory administration had challenged the Tribunal’s decision before the High Court, but the petition was dismissed. Accordingly, Dr Itoo has now been placed at seniority position 113-A and Ganai at 120-A in the JKAS list.
