Temple theft case solved, accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: Police claimed to have solved a temple theft case within 24 hours and arrested the accused besides recovering the stolen property.
The theft had taken place at Kali Mata Mandir Barrian during the intervening night of August 20-21. Thieves had stolen donation box along with cash in it from the temple.
During the course of investigation, one accused person, identified as Kuldeep Chand, son of Sandoor Chand of Tirshi Gandala, Udhampur, was interrogated and he confessed his involvement in the theft.
On his disclosure, the stolen donation box along with a cash amount of Rs 16,000/- was recovered. The accused has been arrested under relevant provisions of law and further investigation is underway.
