KATHUA, Aug 21: MLA Dr Bharat Bhushan conducted an extensive tour of cloud burst hit areas of village Khokhyal here today.
Massive destruction has taken place in Khokhyal village and flood water and mud upto 4 feet has entered into houses of people in the village. Many houses have suffered extensive losses.
Scores of shops and godowns has suffered losses.
Government High School Khokhyal has suffered badly and the teachers and students are not in a position to reach their class rooms because the school ground has turned into a sea of mud.
Dr Bharat Bhushan urged the administration to immediately provide relief to effected families, work out the losses and make High School functional, so that the affected families can start their lives afresh and studies of the student are not affected.
Earlier, MLA visited Dilwan, Bijjit, Panyara, Khanyara, Patoli and Ama Bhai Shrine, where cloud burst has played havoc.
The water and electricity in these areas is totally disrupted and road connectivity is defunct.
The MLA later apprised Deputy Commissioner about the measures which are needed to be taken on priority.
Among others who were accompanied the MLA included Raghunandan Singh Bablu, Ravinder Sharma Shittu, G D Manyal, Pawan Sharma, Bhanu Partap Singh, Amit Sudan and former Sarpanches, panches and numberdars .
