SAMBA, Aug 19: Continuing its drive against the sale of illicit liquor in the district, Samba police has arrested a bootlegger and seized 96 bottles of illicit liquor of 180 ml each in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ramgarh.
Acting on reliable information regarding sale of illicit liquor in Ward No. 07 Ramgarh, a police party of Police Station (PS), Ramgarh raided the shop of the accused person and seized 96 bottles of JK Special Whisky of 180 ml each from his possession. The arrested shopkeeper has been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Dev Raj of Ward No. 07 Ramgarh district Samba who was indulged in selling of illicit liquor to general public from his shop.
A case FIR No. 61/2025 under Section 48(f) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Ramgarh and investigation started.
