They stated that the company has been assigned electrification projects by the J&K Power Development Corporation Limited (JKPDCL) and the Power Distribution Corporation Limited (PDCL) under various schemes across Kashmir districts.
The company has been identified as Vijai Electricals Ltd., headquartered in Somajiguda, Hyderabad.
The Association claimed the company is involved in the “exploitation of local labourers” and “unjust business practices” in J&K.
The Association emphasized that both labourers and subcontractors working on the company’s projects have faced significant hardships due to months-long delays in payments.
“Payment delayed is payment denied,” the Association stated, highlighting the severe financial and psychological stress faced by workers.
AJKJECA has called on JKPDCL and PDCL to immediately blacklist Vijai Electricals Ltd.
It further demanded freezing all pending payments to the company and releasing these funds directly to local contractors and workers who have already fulfilled their contractual obligations.
The Association also urged a high-level investigation into Vijai Electricals Ltd., specifically focusing on its operations and treatment of workers in Jammu and Kashmir.
AJKJECA said such practices are an affront to the dignity and economic well-being of Kashmiri youth.
The Association made a direct appeal to the Managing Director of JKPDCL and the Chief Engineer of PDCL, urging immediate intervention to ensure justice and safeguard the rights of local workers and contractors.
