ED seizes Rs 1.41-cr from K’taka Congress MLA’s house, 6.7 kg gold from family lockers

NEW DELHI, Aug 15: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday said it has seized Rs 1.41 crore in cash from the residence of Karnataka Congress MLA Satish Krishna Sail, apart from gold jewellery and bullion of 6.75 kg from the bank lockers of his family, as part of a money laundering investigation.
The case pertains to the alleged illegal export of iron ore by a company allegedly linked to the 59-year-old legislator.
Sail is an MLA from the Karwar assembly seat in the Uttara Kannada district. He could not be contacted immediately for his reaction to the ED charges against him. (Agencies)
