Police solve hit-and-run case

JAMMU, Aug 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have cracked a hit-and-run case within two days of the incident in the Janipur area.
A police official said on August 12, an unidentified body was found near Domino’s on the main road in Janipur after the victim had gone for a morning walk.
He said police teams, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), Inspector Vikram Sharma, under the supervision of senior officers, analysed CCTV footage and traced the vehicle involved, bearing registration number JK02A J6128.
“The vehicle was seized, and the driver was arrested,” he said.
He said the swift action has been widely appreciated by the public, with police urging citizens to install CCTV cameras, use footpaths, and follow traffic rules to prevent such incidents.
