RAMBAN, Aug 12: Twelve tourists here today sustained injuries after a vehicle they were onboard skidded off the road and overturned into a big roadside drain in Dalwass area of Chanderkote on National Highway 44.
Sources informed that the ill fated vehicle of Tempo Traveller make bearing registration number JK14K-9538 was on its way to Kashmir from Jammu.
Immediately after the accident locals along with cops started a rescue operation and shifted all the injured to District Hospital (DH) Ramban for treatment.
Medical Superintendent at DH Ramban, Sudershan Singh Katoch said the injured were responding to the treatment.
The injured were identified as Krishan Gupta, 21, son of Naresh Kumar Gupta; Sakshi Gupta, 25, wife of Atul Gupta; Vinod Kumar, 53; Prem Narriyaan Gupta, Shristi Gupta, 23, daughter of Vinod Kumar; Vashnavive Gupta, 23, daughter of Naresh Gupta; Atul, 35, son Kiteam Parkash; Sharda, 18, daughter of Naresh; Naresh Gupta, 44, son of Surinder Kumar Gupta; Arti Gupta, 46, wife of Vinod Gupta; Roshni Gupta, 54, wife of Naresh Kumar Gupta and a 18 months old baby girl Shivali, daughter of Atul Gupta-all residents of tehsil and district Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
An injured Naresh Gupta informed that they were heading towards Kashmir after paying obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra.
Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Chanderkote and started investigation.
