JAMMU, Aug 12: An urgent and extraordinary meeting of the officers of the Prosecution Department was held here today, under the chairmanship of Baldev Singh Manhas, Director Prosecution (Retd.).
The meeting resolved a long-pending demand with the creation of the All J&K Prosecution Service Officers Association (AJKPSOA), aimed at overseeing the welfare and service conditions of prosecution officers following their separation from the Police Department into an independent organization.
The constitution and earlier formulated election rules of the association were approved.
Baldev Singh Manhas was unanimously chosen as the Patron-in-Chief of the association.
He also announced the formation of an ad hoc body with the following office bearers including Anil Mangotra as president, Rajesh Gill as vice president, Sunil Sharma as general secretary, Pooja Nijhon and Raj Kumar as joint secretaries and Yuv Raj Singh as Treasurer.
It was unanimously decided that the ad hoc body will immediately submit the matter to the J&K Home Department through the DG Prosecution for Government approval and recognition under Rule 7 & 19 of the J&K Govt. Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971.
Following approval, a membership drive will be launched, leading to elections for a fully constituted body.
The proposal was formally forwarded by ad hoc president Anil Mangotra to the DG Prosecution for necessary action and approval, paving the way for the association’s operational framework.
Among others who were present during the meeting included, Manzar Khayam, Amir Al Masoor, Arvind Rathore, Rohini Manhas, Vikram Parihar, Riaz Bhatti, Joginder Lal, Rajeev Thapa, Neha Sharma, Saiqa Khan, Pawandeep Kaur, Manasvi Mahajan, Anandita Thas and Ajaz Ahmad Parihar.
