SAMBA, Aug 10: Samba police has attached property of a drug peddler valuing Rs 44.50 lakh approximately.
Police said property including a single storey residential house and cattle shed belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Sham Din, son of Murid Ali of Sarore Adda, tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba has been attached as the same was acquired through illegal means.
It said the action was taken by police under sections 68-E read with 68-F of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR No.139/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS Bari Brahmana and FIR No. 66 /2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act of PS Bari Brahmana.
Police said the residential house and cattle shed were identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation conducted by police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.
Police said that it is committed to combat the drug menace from the district Samba and it has launched a relentless campaign in this regard.
The operation was executed under the supervision of SSP Samba, Virinder Manhas.
