JAMMU, Aug 8: An awareness programme focusing on Drug Abuse, New Criminal Laws and Cyber Fraud was organized at Martyr Major Arvind Bazala Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, R.S. Pura. The event was chaired by Gurmeet Singh, SDPO R.S. Pura and Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, SHO Police Station R.S. Pura. The school principal, staff and a large number of students participated in the programme.
The event featured informative sessions aimed at sensitizing students on pressing social and legal issues. During the Drug Awareness Session, students were educated about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraged to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.
In the session on New Criminal Laws, students were briefed on recently implemented legal reforms and their implications, with key provisions explained in a simple, interactive format. The Cyber Fraud Awareness segment focused on online safety, comparing cyber protection to wearing a helmet – essential for safety in the digital age.
Students actively participated, engaged in discussions, and clarified their queries. The programme aimed to empower youth through knowledge, promote responsible citizenship, and strengthen police-public cooperation.
