JAMMU, Aug 8: A delegation of the BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD), headed by its district president, Rajiv Pandita, met with Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo in the Civil Secretariat, here, today and raised key issues pertaining to Kashmiri Pandits. The delegation also included KDD general secretaries M.L. Bhat and Vimal Raina.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to CS highlighting critical issues faced by the displaced community.
The delegation called for an immediate enhancement of the monthly cash assistance to displaced Kashmiri Pandit families. It highlighted that the current amount is insufficient to meet the basic needs of approximately 17,000 dependent families, especially given the rising cost of living.
KDD delegation noted that the Relief Organization (Migrant) Jammu is severely understaffed, which is hampering its smooth functioning and the efficient delivery of services. They requested the appointment of at least three additional Commissioners (Relief) and other staff to address this issue and also requested for urgent need of allotment of shops at Muthi and Jagti.
The delegation highlighted the deplorable condition of non-migrant Kashmiri Hindus and urged for immediate attention and requested that all concerned Deputy Commissioners be instructed to reach out to these families and ensure their demands are fulfilled.
The delegation stated that living conditions in migrant camps in Jammu, particularly the Jagti camp, are deplorable. The infrastructure is in a dilapidated State and they requested an immediate allocation of funds for the renovation and repair of these camps.
The process of approving bifurcation cases needs streamlining.
The delegation requested all eligible bifurcation cases are approved expeditiously.
A strong demand was made for the permanent allotment of accommodation to PM package employees including separate road for Machbhawan transit accommodations in Mattan.
