ANANTNAG, Aug 5: The IRP-10th Battalion celebrated its 21st Raising Day with patriotic fervour at Battalion Headquarters, APC Mattan, Anantnag.
The event was graced by Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, DIG IRP Kashmir, as chief guest. He was accompanied by Aftab Ahmad Sheikh, Commandant IRP-17th Battalion, Mushtaq Ahmad Malla, Jail Superintendent, District Jail Anantnag, Khurshid-Ur-Rehman, DySP IRP-10th Battalion and several other officers and officials of the unit.
The celebration commenced with Guard of Honour at unit’s Quarter Guard. This was followed by a floral tribute ceremony at Martyrs’ Memorial, where the chief guest and other senior officers paid rich tributes to the brave martyrs of the Battalion, honouring their supreme sacrifices.
As part of the commemorative activities, a plantation drive was also conducted. DIG IRP Kashmir along with senior officers planted saplings in the Battalion orchard.
A felicitation ceremony was held to honour the families of martyrs and personnel who brought laurels to the Battalion in sports and anti-militancy operations.
The Commandant of IRP-10th Battalion highlighted the major achievements and milestones of the Battalion over the past two decades.
The celebrations also featured a cultural programme, showcasing the rich talent and vibrant spirit of the force.
Addressing the gathering, DIG IRP Kashmir appreciated the efforts of the Commandant and his team for organizing the event in a disciplined, inspiring and graceful manner.
