POONCH, Aug 4: Continuing its efforts to curb illegal activities, the police seized four vehicles smuggling 26 bovine animals to Kashmir valley via Mughal Road in Surankote area.
Report said a Police party from Surankote police jurisdiction foiled a major bovine smuggling bid during routine naka at Poshana police check post on Mughal Road during last night.
During checking four vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of bovines-without any valid permission-were intercepted and seized by the alert police team. A total of 26 bovines were rescued from these vehicles.
In connection with the incident, four FIRs have been registered at Police Station Surankote. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway. However, police did not share vehicles’ number and identity of the drivers/smugglers.
