SRINAGAR, July 30: Three people lost their lives, and over a dozen others were injured today in separate tragic incidents across Kashmir.
In south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a man died and two others were injured after a deodar tree fell on a shed in the Sheikhpora area of Sallar. The deceased has been identified as Basharat Ahmad Shah, a resident of Sheikhpora Sallar. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have taken cognizance of the incident.
In a separate incident in Kulgam district, a 25-year-old man died after a tyre exploded while he was repairing it in the Devsar area. The deceased, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Rasool Najar from Bozgam, suffered critical injuries in the blast and was taken to PHC Devsar, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, in north Kashmir’s Handwara area, a bus accident in Behnipora Rajwar left one person dead and nine others injured. The deceased has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Lone, a local teacher, who died on the spot. The injured were shifted to GMC Handwara and are said to be in stable condition.
Police have registered separate cases and are investigating the circumstances surrounding each incident.
Meanwhile, The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the tragic road accident at Behnipora area of Handwara in which Irshad Ahmed Lone, a Government Teacher, lost his life and many have been injured.
“I am deeply grieved by the tragic road accident in Handwara. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the family of Irshad Ahmed Lone who lost his life. I pray for the early recovery of those injured in this accident,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
