JAMMU, July 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police in RS Pura have successfully rescued a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused from Madhya Pradesh.
A police official said a complaint was lodged on July 19 by the father of the girl, alleging therein that his daughter had been kidnapped.
Based on the complaint, he said, a case FIR number 149/2025 under sections 137(2) and 3(5) of the BNS was registered at Police Station RS Pura.
Acting promptly, a special police team worked meticulously on various leads and used technical inputs to trace the location of the girl, he said.
Following extensive efforts, the girl was recovered from Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, the police official said.
According to him, the accused identified as Dinesh Khanger of Phular, tehsil Garhakota, district Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested and further investigation has been set into motion.
