DODA, July 29: Police in Doda district have solved a theft case involving spare parts worth lakhs of rupees stolen from a local workshop earlier this year.
A police official said the case was registered under FIR number 136/2025 at Police Station Doda on May 3, following a complaint by Bilal Hussain of Bun Doda.
The complainant had reported that several spare parts were stolen from his workshop at Samleen Morh during the intervening night of April 30, he said.
Acting swiftly on the directions of SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta, the police official said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted, led by SHO Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ajay Anand.
During the probe, the main accused Sameer Ahmed of Akramabad was arrested and a large quantity of stolen items was recovered from his possession, he said.
“On further questioning, he revealed the involvement of another person, Mudassir Ahmed from Beswaal, who was arrested on July 28,” the police official said.
“More spare parts were recovered on his disclosure,” he added.
The recovered items have been identified and handed over to the complainant, said the police official.
