JAMMU, July 27: A leading entrepreneur, Rajesh Sharma has been installed as new president of the Jammu Rotary Club.
Rotary Club of Jammu City held its presidential installation ceremony here today marking a new chapter of leadership and service. The event was graced by the presence of Rotary District Governor, Rohit Oberoi and Divisional Commissioner of Jammu Ramesh Kumar, who jointly officiated the installation of the Club’s new president, Rajesh Sharma.
In a ceremony filled with tradition, outgoing president Shivangi Gupta formally handed over the mantle of leadership to Rajesh Sharma, who will lead the Club for the Year 2025-26.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar highlighted the longstanding partnership between civic administration and Rotary in community development. “Rotary Clubs act as an extended arm of the administration when it comes to public service,” he added.
District Governor Rohit Oberoi, emphasized the significance of service through leadership and applauded the club’s efforts in areas like education, sanitation, and healthcare.
Rajesh Sharma is a distinguished entrepreneur and respected leader. He previously served as Chairman of Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
In his speech, new president outlined his vision for the year ahead, focusing on youth engagement, environmental sustainability, and rural outreach programs.
The evening also featured the introduction new board of directors. Vote of thanks was delivered by Sham Sundan, Secretary of the Club.
The event was attended by Rotary members- Sanjeev Vaid, Amit Gupta, Arvind Kotwal, Arun Ninawat, KK Sharma, Nirmal Mahna, Kamal Sharma, Dr Jyoti Kour, Ritika Mahajan, Abha Sundan, GN Tantray, Gurjeet Singh, members from different clubs, community leaders and others.
