Vice president BJP J&K Rekha Mahajan was chief guest on the occasion while Anita Mahajan (Prant president) graced the occasion as guest.
The event was organized under the leadership of Vanita Kohli (president), Kalpana Chopra (secretary) and Ritu Gupta (treasurer) along with active participation of the BVP Ladies Club members.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the recitation of Vande Mataram, setting the tone for a culturally rich and spiritually uplifting evening.
In her address, Rekha Mahajan said, “Hariyali Teej is one of the most cherished festivals in India that signifies the beauty of nature, devotion, and the sacred bond of marriage. She further emphasized the importance of participating in such cultural festivals, stating, “These celebrations serve as a bridge connecting us to our roots.”
The Teej Mahotsav 2025 featured a variety of engaging and entertaining activities, including traditional dance performances, folk music, games, and a special highlight – the Teej Queen Competition, where women showcased their talent, elegance, and festive spirit. The event brought together members and guests for an evening of joy, laughter, and shared cultural values.
Suresh Balli won the title of the evergreen Teej Queen (above 50) and Vanshika Gupta as the Teej Queen (under 50), representing both maturity and youthful energy. The Hariyali Teej festival is such a vibrant celebration, and having two distinct Teej Queens could really highlight the diversity of the participants and their celebrations.
