JAMMU, July 24: Senior BJP leader and former Minister Bali Bhagat has strongly demanded that the Jammu and Kashmir Government immediately advertise all sanctioned posts referred to the Public Service Commission (PSC) and Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), including crucial posts such as Naib Tehsildars, to address the growing unemployment crisis in the Union Territory.
In a strongly worded statement issued today, Bali Bhagat said, “There is an urgent need to fill all vacant posts in various departments to tackle the issue of rising unemployment among educated youth. The sanctioned posts referred to PSC and SSRB must be advertised and recruitment should be done on a fast-track basis without any further delay.”
Bhagat particularly emphasized the regularization of academic arrangement employees in the Medical Education Department, many of whom have been serving for years without job security. He also demanded the regularization of daily wage employees and contractual workers across various departments who were promised permanent jobs by the previous National Conference (NC) Government during the J&K Assembly elections but have been left in limbo.
“The promises made by the then Government remain unfulfilled. This includes the assurance of regularization of daily wagers and providing free electricity up to a certain unit to economically weaker sections. It is time the Government keeps its word and delivers on its commitments,” Bhagat asserted.
He said that at a time when the youth are facing immense job-related stress, the Government must take proactive measures to release recruitment advertisements, complete pending selection processes, and provide relief to long-serving contractual and daily wage workers.
Bali Bhagat also underlined the importance of transparency, merit, and fairness in all recruitment processes. He called on the administration to maintain accountability and ensure that deserving candidates are not overlooked due to bureaucratic delays or political bias.
He asked the J&K UT administration to give special attention to this issue and implement a time-bound recruitment calendar to address the employment backlog.
