JAMMU, July 20: A teacher of a private school apparently ended his life by hanging from a ceiling fan at his rented accommodation at Chowadhi area here.
Mohammad Parul son of Deen Mohammad of Ramnagar, at present Chowadhi, who worked as a teacher in RM Public School Chowadhi, was not responding to repeated phone calls of his family members back in Ramnagar, a police official said.
After that they approached Police Post Sainik Colony today, a team was deputed to his residence, which found the door of his room locked from inside, he said.
“When it was forced opened, the teacher was found hanging with the ceiling fan,” he said, adding that he was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him as dead on arrival.
While the body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination, police have initiated inquest proceedings to further probe into the matter.
