JAMMU, July 20: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri has demanded the appointment of Chairman and other members of 8th Pay Commission.
In a handout he claimed that constitution of the 8th Pay Commission was approved by the Union Cabinet 6 months back.
“Since due date for implementation of 8th Pay Commission is January 1, 2026, it is hoped that the Commission will complete its report within the given time frame so that the benefits of 8th Pay Commission could reach the beneficiaries from January 2026,” Shastri maintained.
In a memorandum to PM Modi, Shastri said that notification for the appointment of Chairman and other member of the 8th Pay Commission is need of the hour.
He also demanded merger of 50 per cent DA into basic pay or pension as the DA has crossed 50 per cent. His other demands were restoration of Old Pension Scheme, release of 18 months’ pending DA arrears, setting up of National Wage Commission etc.
