RAJOURI, July 17: A violent scuffle between two youth in Khanyalkote area of Thannmandi turned deadly, resulting in the death of one of them.
Reports said Safeer Ahmed, son of Mohd Shabir, aged 24, resident of Kheora, allegedly attacked Mehraj-ud Din, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, aged 30, also a resident of Kheora, with a sharp-edged weapon, inflicting fatal injuries.
Upon receiving the information, a police team led by DySP Probationer Ahtesham Ahmed Khan rushed to the spot. The injured was immediately shifted to CHC Thannamandi, where Dr Sagheer Anjum declared him brought dead.
The deceased’s body has been shifted to GMC Rajouri for medico-legal formalities, including post-mortem.
Police have registered a case, and the accused, Safeer Ahmed, has been arrested.
