SAMBA, July 16: The dead body of a youth was found under mysterious circumstances in village Rakh Barotian of Vijaypur area of the Samba district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sawan Majhotra alias Sawan, son of Tajinder Majhotra aged about 27-28 years, resident of Ward No. 4, Vijaypur, district Samba.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the team of Vijaypur Police Station reached the spot along with the team of Forensic Science Lab (FSL). The police took the body in their custody and sent it to Vijaypur Hospital for postmortem.
Vijaypur police has registered a case and a thorough investigation is being conducted to ascertain the cause of death. Action is being taken keeping in mind all possible aspects, police said.
The body of the deceased has been kept in the mortuary of Vijaypur Hospital for postmortem. After the postmortem, the body will be handed over to relatives for last rites.
