JAMMU, July 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the promotion of 13 police officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) to the higher ranks, with one promoted to the Super Time Scale-I (Level 13A), three to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Selection Grade-I (Level-13), and nine to Superintendent of Police (SP) Selection Grade-II.

As per an order issued by the Home Department, 1999 batch senior JKPS officer, Kulbir Singh has been promoted to the Super Time Scale-I (Level 13A) of the pay matrix with immediate effect.
Another order said those three officers who have been promoted to the SSP rank Selection Grade-I are Abrar Ahmad Choudhary, Gh Jeelani Wani, and Amit Bhasin.
While Abrar Ahmad Choudhary, the 2001 batch JKPS officer, has been promoted notionally with effect from December 24, 2024, and regularly with immediate effect, Gh Jeelani Wani and Amit Bhasin, both 2001 batch JKPS officers, have been promoted with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, as per another order, nine JKPS officers have been promoted to the rank of SP Selection Grade-II (Level 12). They area Vinay Kumar, Parvez Ahmad Dar, Tariq Ahmad Wani, Ch Iftkhar Ahmed, Zoheb Tanveer, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray, Amit Verma, Iftkhar Talib, and Noor Ul Hassan.
While Vinay Kumar, a 2002 batch JKPS officer, Parvez Kumar, a 2007 batch JKPS officer, and Tariq Ahmad Wani, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Zoheb Tanveer, all 2008 batch JKPS officers, have been promoted notionally with effect from December 24, 2024, and regularly with immediate effect, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray, Amit Verma, Iftikhar Talib, and Noor Ul Hassan, all 2008 batch JKPS officers have been promoted with immediate effect.
