DODA, July 15: Police rescued 11 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
A police spokesman said that, on specific input, police party from Police Post Goha Marmat laid a naka at Gular Nallah, Muthi Marmat and intercepted three persons carrying bovine animals.
During questioning, they failed to give satisfactory reply and were arrested. Eleven bovine animals were rescued from their possession, which they were smuggling towards Srinagar on foot.
The smugglers have been identified as Ghulam Hussain, son of Abdul Hamid Batt, Jaan Mohammad, son of Mohammad Ashraf and Asgar Ali, son of Abdul Hamid, all residents of Labbar Marmat.
A case under FIR No 133/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
