PoK citizen dies in Mendhar

POONCH, July 12: A resident of  Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) died at his brother’s residence in Gursai area of tehsil Mendhar early today.
Reports said the 74-year-old Shaker Din, son of Raj Mohammed, resident of  Tholar Colony in  Kotli (PoK), had come to meet his brother Akbar Hussain at Keri Galuta in Gursai area of Mendhar. He arrived here along with his wife, Shamim Akhtar,  via  Chakkan-da-Bagh LoC point in Poonch, under Travel Permit No. 10332 on June 2, 2014. He was supposed to return to his home back in PoK on July 14.
Family sources said that Shaker Din was in good health and met his relatives here. He was happy to meet his brother and other relatives. At around 6 am today, he complained of some chest pain and was shifted to Mendhar hospital by the family members. He died after some time. The message of his death was flashed to his home town Kotli. His brother Akbar Din then contacted SDM Mendhar Dr Romesh Kumar who further requested Deputy  Commissioner, Poonch  to take up the matter with the Pakistani authorities at Rawlakote for shifting of dead body to PoK.
The Police and local administration after completion of all the legal formalities handed over the body to his wife and later it was handed over to PoK authorities at Chakkan-da-Bagh at around 6 pm today. Family members of the deceased had reached at the Army Gate at Chakkan-da-Bagh to receive the body while officers of the local administration from Rawalakote were also there.
