Two held while trying to steal scooty at Dogra Chowk

JAMMU, June 30: Two persons were caught red-handed while trying to steal a scooty at Dogra Chowk today and were later handed over to the police by alert locals.
The incident took place when the scooty owner, Ishfaq Ahmed of Marble Market, Channi, was shopping at a footwear store.
Taking advantage of his absence, two men tried to flee on his scooty. However, nearby shopkeepers noticed the act and raised an alarm.
The owner, along with locals, chased and caught the suspects a short distance away.
The accused have been identified as Gautam Patiyal of Raya Morh and Rohit Slathia of Vijaypur, both from Samba district.
They were later handed over to Nowabad Police, who have registered a case and started further investigation.
