UDHAMPUR, June 28: Police arrested a narcotics smuggler in Flata area under the jurisdiction of Rehambal Police Station and recovered around 4.5 kg poppy straw from his possession.
The accused was apprehended by a Police team, led by SHO Rehambal, Purab Singh during patrolling duty at naka point Flata when he was coming from Garnai side and moving towards Tikri on foot.
On frisking of the accused, namely Rafaqat Hussain, son of Mohd Rafiq of Kouri, Judda, Reasi, Police team recovered 4.496 kg of poppy straw like contraband substance from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 97/2025, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Rehambal.
