The proposal to open an IIT at Jammu is a step in right direction.
The opening of this institute of higher learning will give a boost to educational sector in the State. Not only that it will also generate employment opportunities in the State. The proposed IIT shall have the State-of-art facilities for students to compete at international level.
The IIT will bring Jammu in league with other cities where these institutions have been already set up.
At a time when no India an educational institute figures among the top universities of the world, let us expect that this institute finds its place among the toppers. The Government should ensure that it should not be mere a building of brick and stone but a institute of hope and excellence.
