UDHAMPUR, June 27: A notorious narcotics smuggler among three drug peddlers was arrested in two separate cases, here today.
Sheikh Imran alias Mussa, son of Sheikh Mohd Yunus, resident of near TCP Domail, was arrested by patrolling team of Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Raghuvir Singh.
Upon frisking, Police recovered 10.52 grams of heroin like contraband substance from his possession following which he was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR , under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur.
It is pertinent to mention that the Sheikh Imran alias Musa has a criminal history and was previously involved in FIR No. 277/2012 under Section 153-A RPC & FIR No. 534/2017 under Sections 451/323 RPC of Police Station Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Police team from Police Station Rehambal arrested two drug peddlers at Duddar Bridge near Kali Mata Mandir, Rehambal when they were on way from Tikri to Udhampur riding a motorcycle bearing registration number JK14D-2431.
The police team recovered 3.6 grams of heroin like contraband substance from their possession. The accused were identified as Gorav Sharma, son of Sham Lal of Garhi, Udhampur and Vivek Sharma son of Ganesh Sharma of Mand, Udhampur.
A case FIR under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
