Srinagar, June 24: The Director of Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, today directed officials to ensure a foolproof and responsive healthcare system during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025.
Ahead of the Yatra, which is set to begin on July 3, Dr. Bakshi chaired two key meetings in Srinagar to review and strengthen healthcare arrangements for yatra.
The first session, held at the TRC, was a sensitization meeting with Camp Directors who will be deployed across various base camps along the Pahalgam and Baltal axes. Organized by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, the meeting focused on improving coordination and preparedness of healthcare services at these critical locations.
Dr. Bakshi briefed the Camp Directors on the existing medical infrastructure and services established by the Directorate, followed by an interactive session to clarify operational roles and streamline communication protocols.
In the second meeting, Dr. Bakshi held a comprehensive coordination session with key stakeholders involved in healthcare service delivery during SANJY 2025.
The meeting saw participation from representatives of the Indian Army, BSF, SSB, SDRF, SKIMS Soura, SKIMS MCH Bemina, Associated Hospitals of GMC Srinagar, Police Hospital Srinagar, CMOs of Anantnag and Ganderbal, COS/Officer Yatra Incharge DHSK, Yatra Unit DHSK, and other relevant officers from the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir.
During the session, the Director delivered a detailed power point presentation outlining the healthcare action plan prepared for the Yatra.
Key focus areas discussed in both sessions included infrastructure readiness along the Yatra routes, deployment of medical teams, availability of medical supplies, emergency response protocols, and referral and evacuation mechanisms.
The deliberations comprehensively covered aspects of medical preparedness, including logistics, emergency response, and inter-agency coordination, with the goal of delivering timely and high-quality medical care to all pilgrims.
