UDHAMPUR, June 23: Police foiled a major attempt of bovine smuggling in Rehambal area and rescued 49 bovines besides arresting two smugglers.
Police team of Police Station Rehambal, led by SHO Purab Singh, foiled the bovine smuggling bid and rescued all 49 bovines, which were being smuggled on foot towards Kashmir Valley.
Two bovine smugglers, namely Mohd Qasim, son of Sheru of Bhartund, Rajgarh and Zakir Hussain, son of Gulab Din of Chak Manga, Samba were also arrested on the spot. In this regard, case FIR No. 93/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation of the case is underway.
