JAKASICON concludes at GMC Anantnag

SRINAGAR, June 22: The three-day state-level conference, JAKASICON 2025, concluded today at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag.
The conference, which saw national participation, was organized by the Department of General and Minimal Access Surgery, GMC Anantnag.
It was held under the patronage of Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, and chaired by the Head of the Department, Dr. Nazir Wani.
Specialist and super-specialist surgeons, along with resident doctors from across the country, participated in the event.
Several high-end research papers were presented, and experts led discussions on recent advances in surgical management techniques.
The third and final day of JAKASICON 2025 featured insightful and meaningful deliberations by resident scholars from J&K and beyond.
The academic sessions were marked by enthusiastic participation, critical discussion, and a celebration of research and scholarly excellence.
Awards were presented to recognize outstanding contributions in various categories. In the Hajra Ali Memorial Paper Presentation, first prize was awarded to Dr. Gurveen Kaur from GMC Srinagar, second prize to Dr. Elizabeth from GMC Anantnag, and third prize to Dr. Raj Swethan from GMC Srinagar.
In the MayaSham Poster Presentation, first prize went to Dr. Raj Swethan from GMC Srinagar, second to Dr. Raheel Mughal from SKIMS, and third to Dr. Manveer Singh from ASCOMS.
In the Dr. K.L. Kapoor Quiz Competition, first position was secured by Team GMC Srinagar, Dr. Haris and Dr. Raj Swethan, second by Team GMC Anantnag, Dr. Shahubudin and Dr. Niraj, and third by Team GMC Jammu, Dr. Akhilesh and Dr. Simriddhi.
