Women assaulted over land dispute in Rajouri; video goes viral, accused booked

Rajouri, June 21: A disturbing video has surfaced from Ramot Panchayat of Dodasanbala village in Rajouri district, showing two men assaulting women, including young girls, during a land dispute.
The video, now viral on social media, has triggered public outrage and calls for strict action.
Police claimed the assault was linked to an old land dispute between two families.
In the footage, a retired police officer and his son can be seen hitting women with sticks and throwing stones at them.
The incident was captured by locals and widely shared online.
Taking swift action in the matter, SHO Thannamandi, DySP (Probationer), Ahtesham Ahmed Khan said an FIR number 85/2025 under the relevant Sections of the law has been registered at Thannamandi Police Station and further investigation has been set into motion.
According to him, both accused are on the run, and police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
Meanwhile, police officials confirmed that raids are being carried out at multiple locations to arrest and bring the accused to justice.
