JAMMU, June 20: Police today recovered the decomposed body of an elderly man from his residence in Muthi area here.
The deceased has been identified as Krishan Lal Koul, son of Prithvi Nath Koul.
A police official said the deceased was living alone in his quarters. “He is believed to have slipped and died due to injuries,” he said.
“With no one around to notice, his body remained unattended for five-six days until his brother-in-law visited the house and discovered the decomposed body,” said the police official.
Following the alert, he said, a team from Police Station Domana reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College Jammu for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the death, he said.
