RAJOURI, June 20: In a continued effort to combat drug menace, police today apprehended two drug peddlers in separate incidents in Thannamandi and Rajouri town recovering contraband substances including heroin like substance Tapentadol tablets and Tramadol injections case 1 – heroin like Narcotic substance seizure in Thannamandi area.
The recoveries were made during a naka checking at Upper Thannamandi Bridge a police party from Police Station Thannamandi.
A team led by SHO Thannamandi and Dy SP (Prob) Ahtesham Ahmed Khan, under the close supervision of SDPO Thannamandi, Parupkar Singh apprehended one individual who was moving suspiciously.
The individual was identified as Javaid Iqbal S/o Mohd Taj, R/o of Khablan Thannamandi.
After searching, the police party recovered 10.27 grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.
In this regard a case FIR No. 84/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Thannamandi and investigation is ongoing.
