KATHUA, June 20: Traffic Police Rural Jammu today launched a special drive against stunt biking in Kathua district.
As per a statement, the drive was launched by Inspector Kapil Manhas, DTI Kathua, along with other officials, under the supervision of SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, GL Sharma.
During the drive, four motorcycles were seized under the provision of the Motor Vehicles Act/Rules, it said.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Police warned that the drive shall be intensified in the coming days to reduce the traffic violations as dangerous driving poses threat to the lives of the drivers as well as other commuters.
“The drive will continue to minimize the MV Act violations and reduce the fatalities in road accidents. The general public, particularly the youth, are requested to strengthen the hands of Traffic Police so that the violators are booked under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act to avoid any untoward vehicle incidents,” said GL Sharma, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu.
