JAMMU, June 20: Police in Chatha area here claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal with an illegal firearm.
Jatinder Singh alias Kaka of Village Chatha was arrested with a country-made pistol (Desi Katta) along with one live cartridge by a team of Police headed by incharge Police Post Chatha PSI Karnail Singh under the supervision of SHO Satwari, Inspector Jai Pal Singh, SDPO Gandhi Nagar, Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SP Jammu South, Ajay Sharma, and overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, a police official said.
The accused was accordingly booked in case FIR number 129/2025 under section 3/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Satwari and further investigation started, he said.
According to the police official, the accused is a habitual offender, as he was recently released on bail in a murder case FIR number 24/2010 registered under section 302 of the RPC at Police Station Bahu Fort.
