BJP, BJYM protest against Urdu subject for NT post

SUNDEBANI, June 20: Against the decision of J&K Government to make Urdu a compulsory subject for the post of Naib Tehsildar (NT), a large number of BJP and BJYM workers staged a protest demonstration and took to streets, here today.
The protestors’ also burnt effigy of Chief Minister (CM) Omar Abdullah.
The protest was led by state BJYM president, Arun Prabhat & BJYM state vice president Yuvraj Singh District president BJYM Rajat Singh, BJYM Mandal Pradhan Randeep Singh, BJYM Mandal Pardhan Kangri Arun Uppal.
The protesters raised slogans against NC led government for discrimination against non-Urdu candidates.
They called imposition of Urdu as deliberate attempt to exclude deserving candidates from Jammu division and said that such regional discrimination will not be tolerated.
The protesters urged J&K Service Selection Board, J&K LG and J&K government to reconsider the decision.
Prominent among protesters included district president of BJP Pritam Sharma, senior leader Nasib Singh Chib, DDC Bal Krishan, senior leader Pushpinder Chadha and others.
