RAJOURI, June 16: The police nabbed a youth and recovered some quantity of heroin from his possession in Thannamandi area today.
Official sources said that Rajouri police while acting on specific inputs, laid a naka at Churung bridge, led by DySP (Prob) Ahtesham Ahmed Khan SHO. PS Thanamandi, under the close supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Paropkar Singh.
During checking a youth was found moving in a suspicious manner and was promptly apprehended. A personal search of the suspect led to the recovery of 8 grams of heroin.
The accused has been identified as Sheraz Ahmed @ Raja, son of Mohd Azam, resident of Thanamang, Darhal.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 82/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thanamandi and further investigation is underway. The police are actively working to trace the forward and backward linkages of the drug network involved.
