JAMMU, July 7:  All India Backward Classes Union has accused the ruling alliance partner Congress of trying to mislead people by claiming that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ignored Jammu people and their issue.
In a meeting of the Union, held under the direction of its president Abdul Malik, the  Union termed the local Congress leaders’ meeting with A K  Antony at New Delhi as  nothing but beating about the bush.  Congress never favoured the real issue of 27 percent reservation for the State OBCs and these leaders are now misguiding the Centre leadership, said Prof Kali Dass, general secretary of the Union.
Congress leadership at the fag end of the six years tenure of Governance has no right to blame National Conference for ignoring the issues  and the party is now shedding crocodile tears to win the favour of the State people, Kali Dass said adding that Congress could have withdrawn its support to  NC if it had no say in the Government.
Those who attended the meeting, included Bansi Lal,  Mohd Sharif, Mohd Iqbal,  Sandokh Chand,  Swarn Singh, Sardar Rajinder Singh, Bishan Dass,  Puran Chadgotra,  Sain Dass, Prof  Kali Dass and others.
