JAMMU, July 7: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), today reiterated its demand of consolidated rehabilitation for seven lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir valley with free flow of Indian Constitution and said it is only viable solution of their settlement.
The KPC while stressing on abrogation of Article 370, said it is pre-requisite for return of KPs to Kashmir.
Addressing the party activists, Kundan Kashmiri, its chief expressed annoyance and dismay over denial of consolidated settlement of KPs at their” Kashyap Homeland” in Kashmir valley by senior BJP leaders in their press conference, which has badly hurt the exiled community and demoralize them too.
He further stated that denial of consolidated rehabilitation of exiled Pandits in Valley by BJP leaders has emboldened the separatists who have been responsible for the mass exodus of Pandits.
However, KPC chief appreciated Narendra Modi Government to bring the issue of KP community at the centre stage of the national political scene. He said community people have many expectations with Mr Modi as KPs are struggling for the last 25 years in exile and would continue to fight for their rights.
Besides demanding of consolidated rehabilitation of displaced KPs with writ of Indian Constitution and abrogation of Article 370, the KPC strongly pleaded that there should be no negotiation at any level on Kashmir which is a settled issue. He demanded that unanimous Parliament resolution of 1994 on J&K, needs to be given practical shape by the Modi Government.
In a joint meeting of various social organizations at Jagti Township, the members after a threadbare discussion on present political scenario regarding the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley stressed upon the unity of the frontline organizations and consensus on rehabilitation in the Valley.
The meeting appealed the leaders to sit together prior to meeting with Government of India and formulate a joint memorandum for submission to defeat nefarious designs of some political and self-styled leaders.
The meeting also rejected the individuals and organizations approaching the Home Department, having no ground support and mandate on the part of the community.
The meeting passed a unanimous resolution to organize a Mahapanchayat of all the responsible leaders of the community to make a consensus on the rehabilitation.
The meeting also criticized the recent statements and two nation theory passed by some separatists.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Pintoo Ji and Vir Ji Belove of Jagti Migrants Welfare Association, Tej Krishan Dhar (DKF), Desh Rattan and R N Dhar (AMCCC), Roshan Lal Raina and Ravinder Raina (Voice of KPs), besides Ravinder Kumar, T K Bhat, M K Pandita, Bitu Singh, Surinder Kumar and Sunil Kumar.

The Samajwadi Party Minority Forum has condemned the statement of Mufti Bahsir-ud-Din opposing the return of Pandits to Valley. The general secretary of the Forum Inderji Labroo said that Kashmir being the land of  Kashyap Rishi belongs to Pandits. He said Mufti has been exposed with this statement. He alleged that State Government was encouraging the anti social elements to grab the Pandits land and other property.
