Forest fires erupt in Reasi

REASI, June 13: Massive forest fires have broken out in several areas of Reasi district, with flames spreading rapidly across Simbal Choa, Grah Morh and Goswan.
As per officials, dense forests in these regions have been badly affected, raising concerns for both wildlife and nearby residents.
Though light rain was reported in parts of the district, it failed to bring the fire under control, officials said.
They said the blaze continued to spread across the hilly terrain, posing a threat to biodiversity and villages close to the forests.
According to them, Forest Department teams are on the ground with fire-fighting equipment, trying to stop the flames from reaching more areas. “Efforts are ongoing to control the situation and protect surrounding habitats,” they said.
