DC presides over Block Diwas in Tangmarg

BARAMULLA, June 12: In continuation of the district administration’s public outreach programme, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today presided over a Block Diwas at Lalpora, Tangmarg.

At the outset, DC held an extensive interaction with the public, during which people raised several demands and developmental concerns. These issues included the establishment of a veterinary centre, construction of a sports playground, desilting of irrigation canals, provision of safe drinking water, proper functioning of the local hospital, installation of ATM facilities, and the need for door-to-door garbage collection along with a designated dumping site.

DC gave a patient hearing and issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers for prompt redressal of the genuine grievances raised by the public. He assured that the district administration is committed to ensuring responsive and efficient governance at the grassroots level.

Highlighting Government initiatives, DC urged the local youth to actively register under Mission Yuva and benefit from various livelihood and skill development schemes. He also stressed the importance of availing benefits under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, encouraging eligible individuals to come forward for enrollment.

As part of the programme, DC also inspected stalls set up by various Government departments, which were aimed at creating awareness about different Government welfare schemes and services. He appreciated the efforts of departments for disseminating valuable information to the public and promoting citizen participation in ongoing development initiatives.

Among others SDM Gulmarg, Mir Jaliel Ahmed; ACD Baramulla, Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Ibaad-ur-Rehman and other concerned sectoral officers, besides local residents, public representatives and senior citizens were present during the event.
